MALIKI ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY—Halal bihalal for the extended family of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was held on Tuesday, March 31 2026, at the Ar Rahim Building, Campus 3. This activity was attended by university leaders and the entire academic community in a warm atmosphere after Idul Fitri.
In the event, the first Chancellor of UIN Malang, Prof. Dr. H. Imam Suprayogo, conveyed the main message regarding the importance of the spirit of struggle in the campus environment. He emphasized that attendance at higher education should not be interpreted as merely an administrative routine.
"We come to campus to fight, not just be absent," he said in front of the participants.
According to him, institutional progress is not only determined by formal academic activities, but also by the commitment, prayers and sacrifices of all campus elements. He invited the academic community to jointly contribute actively in advancing UIN Malang.
On that occasion, Prof Imam also shared his experiences while serving as chancellor for 16 years. He revealed that he never received the chancellor's allowance in full, but instead set aside 2.5 percent as a form of commitment and example.
Apart from that, he emphasized the importance of prayer as a foundation in building educational institutions. According to him, UIN Malang's achievements to date cannot be separated from the spiritual efforts that continue to be carried out by the entire academic community. This halal bihalal activity is a momentum to strengthen friendship while reinforcing the values of struggle, togetherness and integrity within the campus environment.
