MALIKI ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY-UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has once again emphasized its big direction as a world-class Islamic campus. This can be seen in the agenda for the 2026 Fiscal Year Leadership Meeting (Rapim) which was held in the 5th floor of the Rectorate Hall, chaired directly by the Chancellor of UIN Maliki, Prof. Dr. Hj. Ilfi Nur Diana, M.Si together with all levels of university leadership.
This year's Rapim raised the theme "Performance Management and Governance of Campus Institutions with International Reputation." Since the opening, the Chancellor emphasized that the meeting was not just a routine administrative meeting, but rather a momentum for collective reflection to re-read the great mandate of higher education.
According to him, UIN Maliki has more responsibilities than just providing higher education. The campus must become a beacon of superior, independent and internationally recognized Islamic civilization. He invited all leaders to carry out self-evaluation, especially based on data accuracy. Data, said the Chancellor, is an important measuring tool to see whether the institution's steps have really led to the university's main vision, namely to become a superior Islamic university with an international reputation in creating a harmonious, beneficial and intelligent society.
The Chancellor also asked reflective questions to the meeting participants. Have the performance indicators that have been implemented so far really brought the campus towards this big vision? For him, vision is not a wall slogan. Vision is a compass that must guide every policy, program and decision making. However, UIN Maliki's achievements are considered quite encouraging. As many as 64 percent of the total 55 study programs have achieved A or Superior accreditation. The construction of Campus 3 Ar-Rahim continues to strengthen academic infrastructure. Globally, UIN Maliki is also ranked as the 14th best Islamic campus in the world according to UniRank in 2025. International trust has also increased. It was recorded that 702 prospective foreign students from 44 countries registered to continue their studies at UIN Malang. This figure is an indicator of the campus' increasing reputation and global competitiveness. According to the Chancellor, all these achievements are proof of the collective work of the academic community. Accreditation shows proven academic quality, international rankings show competitiveness, while international students are a sign of world trust in UIN Maliki.
He emphasized that this achievement is not the final line. In fact, it is the initial capital to jump higher. In the future, institutional governance and performance management must be increasingly precise so that the direction of campus development is in line with the vision of internationalization.
Through the 2026 Rapim, university leaders are expected to not only plan work programs, but also ensure that every policy has a real impact on the people, nation and global society. UIN Maliki wants to exist not only as a campus, but as a center of civilization whose benefits can be felt widely.
